Bios

Gregg Hamilton was born and raised in Bermuda by American parents. After obtaining a degree in industrial engineering from Princeton University, he earned an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon and moved to Manhattan. He worked in direct marketing as an applied statistician for over 25 years at Wunderman, a division of Young & Rubicam. He retired in 2013 after moving to Port Chester in 2008 and has been active in a multitude of local committees since then.
Gregg was a founding member of a local immigrant support group (PCID) served on Port Chester’s Complete Count Census Committee from 2018 to 2020, and also on the Resident Advisory Voting Committee in 2018. In 2019, he accepted a mayoral appointment to serve as Port Chester’s Village Historian, and then stepped down from that role to devote himself to the role of Municipal Historian for the Town of Rye. He has been an active member of Sustainable Port Chester Alliance since 2016, often speaking on behalf of the Alliance at public hearings and during the public comment period of local government meetings. He was a principal organizer of the Climate Change Town Hall which the Alliance hosted on Dec. 10th, 2019 as well as one of the authors and editors of the Alliance’s Just & Sustainable Development Framework which was released in January 2021.
